Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

rapid city one and only opened kitchen restaurant. Taste okay. I liked the general chicken and Mongolian beef there.

Barely edible. The orange chicken was mostly fried dough with a shred of chicken inside. The waiter didn't know the beer list and had to get help

Terrible. Took one hour and 15 minutes to deliver less than 1/2 mile to our hotel. Even worse, food tasted like it had been sitting out for one hour. Pad Thai was inedible, crab Rangoon was underdone and soggy, King and I was completely forgettable. The delivery guy apologized and I hope that he didn't interpret my 20% tip as approval for the service I received. Should have gone to Qdoba or something for half the price and time.

First off. After ordering the waitress, she told me the prices where actually a few dollars higher than whats listed on all the menus. After I ordered I walked in on the cook taking a crap. Horiffied my sushi would be tainted I considered running. I reluctantly stayed. The cook then after he left the bathroom, left the restaurant to pick up my order of sushi from another restaurant. This actually made me feel better. Anyways 35 minutes later the sushi arrived. Im the only person in the place. The sushi is luke warm and now im pretty sure im gonna get mercury poisoning. Thats what I get when I eat sushi in south dakota.

This place is good for take out but they act like you aren't speaking English when you say you want to dine in. Why have all those tables if you don't want people to eat there? They weren't prepared at all, they had no waiters there so when I wanted to get a drink I went up to the soda machine myself and it obviously hadn't been used or cleaned because there was fungus on it....gross

We enjoyed our family meal. It was 23.99 for a family of four ! It is unheard of in other places. It was good solid take out and was ready fast. I ordered there and picked it up. The young man that took my order was not enthusiastic but that's ok. The Roasted pork fried rice was really nice and I would order it again.

Bland chinese food, but it sthe mid-west, at least the waiter had an accent-that forgot to even bring a glass of water. Save your money and go the cheese steak place next door

Let me reveal this one bias: I was visiting Rapid City from Washington state and spent 90 minutes looking for a restaurant that served a decent dish featuring only fish and vegetables. This was the fifth place I tried, and the atmosphere is spartan, as you might expect. My meal -- the seafood special to go -- was prepared in about eight minutes. Two things impressed me about the meal: It was jam-packed with fish, not filler, and the flavor blend was perfect. I've ordered Chinese food to go in maybe seven states, and this is the best I've ever had. No, this probably doesn't taste like what you'd get on the streets of Beijing -- nor should it. The ingredients should be as fresh as possible, and they are.

So very awful. Service for takeout was slow and indifferent/unfriendly. The food was done in minutes, but tasted and smelled BAD. Zero flavor, save for salt, and the rice was so obviously reheated on demand from the previous day. Gross! I was so bummed out.

Best Chinese food I have had in rapid yet. I just found out they DO deliver to Antelope Ridge, but when I did order over the phone they misheard my order. They really didn't have anyway to make it up to me that night, but I was told I could come get my order for free the next day. I really like going in and ordering and taking it home. The crab rangoons are the best in Rapid!

Ordered Beef with vegetables in their combination menu and food was okay. Vegetables are fresh and one order is plenty for one person. Its a typical fast cooking chinese food. I really cannot complain about anything coz I already have a set expectations and it did not fail or surpassed my expectations. Overall, I will probably order again if I want a take out. The picture of other post of being raw is not right because the chinese bbq pork really looks like that.

By far the best takeout Chinese in Rapid City. I enjoy Golden Phoenix for a sit down experience. Be prepared to bay over $60 for a family of 5. It is good and they don't deliver to Ellsworth AFB.

My wife and I have ordered from China Wok quite often, in the past they've always had good food and delivery times. I'm not sure what has happened, but recently their service has gone WAY downhill. Not only is the food absolutely terrible (Tasted like it was days old) but the deliveries have taken on average 2x longer than what they state. 1 1/2 - 2 hours on average, which honestly is ridiculous. On top of this their new hires are pretty disrespectful and unprofessional. I might be nitpicking and overreacting, but when I call a restaurant I'd prefer is someone didn't answer the phone with "Yeah" in a annoyed tone. My last and final business with China Wok was on June 13th 2013, I'm writing this now still waiting for my food after 2 hours. They were a good place, they might still be worth a shot in a few months.. but right now, with their current employees I suggest looking elsewhere.

This is one of 3 restaurants owned by the same family, and because I like the other 2, I had high hopes for China Wok. Shortly after they opened, I tried the Pork Pad See Ew because it was delicious at one of their other restaurants, CoCo Palace. At China Wok, it was as bland and mushy as my ex-boyfriend. Fast forward a couple years to tonight: I decided to give them another try, and a co-worker and I placed an order for delivery. Their online menu has separate menus for each of their 3 restaurants, and after ensuring I was on the China Wok page, my co-worker and I both decided to order Japanese udon noodles. When we tried calling in the order, the person taking the order insisted they don't serve udon at this restaurant. A little annoying, but we decided on something else and called back. This time, I ordered the Seafood Panfried Noodles, and an order of egg rolls. (My co-worker had the Happy Family, which she later said was good). An hour after placing the order, I called the restaurant back to find out where the driver was, and was told that he would be here "very soon". Another 20 minutes went by, and we finally had our dinner. It was sooo not worth the wait! The shrimp in my dish were overcooked, and the sauce in the dish was extremely bland. I thought that this was a fluke the first time; I didn't realize bland was even an option in Asian food! The egg rolls were good, as was the house made mustard, but I will never return here just for those.

We chose this place because we weren't too excited about any of the other places especially because we have 2 young kids (4 &7). What we liked--- the food was fresh, the veggies were cooked just right, the meat wasn't cube shaped, nothing was dripping in grease, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The crab cheese wantons were really yummy! The chicken fried rice was plain but still quite good....we just added a little soy sauce and pepper. Our 4 year old loved it! The kiddos also enjoyed the chicken rice soup! We highly recommend the beef and broccoli! What we didn't like---the CHEAP paper plates and plasticware, the pad thai was seasoned very differently than any other we've had ( we eat thai food very regularly)we sent it back, and the staff never checked on us once the food was served. In fact, she was no where to be found. Not a bad place though and we'll happily eat our left overs tomorrow.
